Hello All! I trust your post-Independence Day week is going well. Some of you might be on vacation. If you are, please enjoy and be careful. We all deserve a break from the past year and a half.

Hey, have you seen the new windows at Glendale? Tull Brothers installed new frosted glass behind our flagpole last week. Before I get into the main reason for this blog entry, check our our new windows...

I am writing to provide some important events and dates in the coming days at Glendale Baptist Church. Perhaps you will see these announcements in our bulletins on Sunday or in the Glendale Announcements page on Facebook. By the way, if you are a part of the Glendale Family and would like to be a part of the Glendale Announcements page, please contact me or Ms. Pat Lancaster, our Social Media Director. The announcements page is reserved for members and friends attending Glendale so you will stay in the know. Now, on to some UPCOMING EVENTS ON THE GLENDALE HILL.

I have added a few comments under certain dates or events. They are italicized.

Glendale welcomes Bro. T.J. Sipes, our AWANA Missionary, as the guest speaker for the morning and evening services. T.J. resides in Ecru, Mississippi with his wife, Kathy, and their son, Jonas. Please give Bro. T.J. and his family a hearty Glendale Welcome this Sunday!

The Glendale Choir will sing during the morning service. If you are interested in singing in the choir, please meet in the Fellowship Hall at 10:45 A.M. this Sunday morning to practice. The songs will be familiar hymns that the congregation will also be singing. The choir adds a special dynamic to our services. If you are comfortable with singing in the choir, I know that it will be a real blessing to the congregation and to those who participate in our services on social media. Thank you for your consideration in serving in our choir.

It could be a husband and wife, two friends, or a Sunday School Class that wants to serve as the Team Captains. The Team Captains provide a brief devotion at the Farmington Park. Also, the Team Captians supply one or two balls to leave at the park. The kids will play and interact with one another and other kids at the park. At 6:00 P.M., everyone comes back to the church and we have our evening service. Following the service, the Team Captians provide light refreshments for those attending our evening service. Sunday, September 12, 2021

  • The Glendale Baptist Church Homecoming, 11:00 A.M.

    Music: Mike and Debbie Brown
    A church-wide meal will follow.

Sunday, September 19, 2021
AWANA officially begins for the 2021-2022 term. Trista Smith will serve as the Commander. All kids are encouraged to participate. If you have never served in AWANA, you are presently part of the AWANA team, or it has been a while, please consider serving the kids of our church and community in AWANA. You will be planting Eternal Seeds and I know God will bless your labor.

Sunday, September 26, 2021
Practice for our Christmas Cantata will begin after the evening service. This year's Christmas Cantata will have special significance as we were unable to have a Christmas Cantata last year. So, please prayerfully consider serving in the choir and seek to bless our community this Christmas.

Monday, October 11, 2021
Glendale will host the October Session of the Northeast Mississippi Pastors' Conference. The conference will begin at 10:00 A.M. We have been asked to also provide lunch for the pastors who will be in attendance. As a former president of the Northeast Mississippi Pastors' Conference, I am asking your help with this day to make it really special. Since I would like to honor our pastors on that day, I will have some special surprises from them. If you could assist me in making the meal super special, would you please contact me? Cooks, servers, desserts, and special touches to make the meal very meaningful to our pastors will be needed.

Saturday, November 6, 2021
Glendale will host our Fall Festival on Saturday, November 6th beginning at 5:00 P.M. in our Family Life Center. There will be lots of fun games for all ages, great food, wonderful fellowship as we celebrate Fall together. By the way, we'll probably be asking for some donations of candy. The good thing about having a Fall Festival at the beginning of November is that it will not conflict with activities from neighboring churches and plus candy is discounted greatly (haha)!

Sunday, November 14, 2021
Glendale will host a Thanksgiving Meal on Sunday, November 14th beginning at 6:30 P.M. The church will provide turkey and dressing. Please bring your favorite side items, entrees, and desserts. We will have our service in the Family Life Center. Consider this: This may be the primary Thanksgiving gatherings for some. I can't imagine a better way to thank God for His wonderful blessings that to come together as a church and have good, godly fellowship.

Sunday, December 12, 2021
The Glendale Christmas Cantata will be held during the morning service of Sunday, December 12, 2021. Please be in prayer for our choir and please invite your family and friends to join us as we worship God together.

Monday, December 20, 2021
Ms. Janice Wamsley has announced that Young at Heart will have their annual Christmas Party in the Fellowship Hall on Monday, December 20th beginning at 6:00 P.M. More information will be shared later, but please save the date!

Thanks for reading...holler if you need me.
Jon
